Thoughts

So sorry to hear the sad news of the passing of Margaret Bell. I first met Margaret when I joined the Department way back in October, 1993 as a fresh-faced Lecturer straight out from a PhD. Margaret was always helpful, warm and friendly and helped me to settle in to university life. She continued to provide calm and effective administration throughout a period of great growth from very few staff and students to something more closely resembling what we have today. I wish her family peace and comfort at this sad time.

Hey G-ma! I just want to say thank you for everything you did for all of us. I have so many memories with you and could write a whole essay if I was allowed. I’ll always remember our road trip through the Rockies together where all we did was drink beer, live off sugar and prevent you from trying to pet the wild bears. Or our trip to Ireland a few years ago where we ended up on the bus learning all about what the English did with the potatoes…. Guinness factory and the live music. I know Antony and I will always remember the memories from Italy as well. These are just snippets of the thousands of memories I have with you. You loved life to the fullest and were one of the smartest people I knew (always correcting our English). Love you lots Nan xx
